Snowbee Lines

New for 2011!!

Snowbee Switch Lines

Totally new designs and profiles to perfectly match and complement our new Prestige Switch Rods.
Modern day Switch lines are a little like a ‘compressed’ Spey line, with a short, heavy head similar to a shooting head profile, but in the popular ‘Skagit’ style. The difference however, is that the bulk of the weight is at the back of the head, to provide the power to create tight D-loops and effortless distance. A long shallow front taper provides a smooth energy transfer for controlled and accurate presentation. To enhance this, Switch lines are ideally fished with a Snowbee Poly-Coated Leader, allowing different fishing depths, depending on the density used.
A short, steep rear taper compresses the weight into the head, where it’s needed and connects smoothly to a fine diameter, continuous running line for minimum friction and maximum shootability.
Available in Grain Weights 200 to 450 to cover all popular sizes of Switch Rod.

SF200 Switch Line 200 grains (#3/4)
SF250 Switch Line 250 grains (#4/5)
SF300 Switch Line 300 grains (#5/6)
SF350 Switch Line 350 grains (#6/7)
SF400 Switch Line 400 grains (#7/8)
SF450 Switch Line 450 grains (#8/9)

Spey Lines

New improved 3D Spey lines.
The ever-popular 3D Series of Snowbee Spey Lines is now back in full production in the UK and the 2D lines will keep the benefit of the extra 10ft extension on the running line. This was added to increase the overall lebgth to 120' when the casting performance of the 2D lines on modern rods out grew the original design length of 110ft.
The conventional length of running line was no longer enough to accommodate the ability of most of today’s anglers and rods, with a 2D line in their hands. Spey casting, distance presentation can now be fulfilled in 21st century style and this most popular and now enhanced 2D line, will accommodate the new levels of performance in Spey casting.
New 'Intermediate' Sinking 3D line.
In addition to the traditional Floating and Sink tip 3D spey lines we have we have now developed and introduced a brand new 'Intermediate' sinking Spey line in all three 3D formats. This line has a sink rate of 2-2.5ips to help with those situations when a floating or sink tip fly line are just not enough. In all three head lengths 1D(51ft), 2D(62ft) and 3D(73ft) this line is designed to help produce more fish on those difficult days wherever one may be.

1D Spey Lines (51 ft Head)
Suitable for Spey casting on small rivers where bank side vegetation and /or steep sided river banks severely limit the back cast area in particular. The 51ft head 1D lines are also ideal for windy days when the 2D and 3D options are simply too much to handle. With the 3D technology one can simply swap from the 3D to a 1D and carry on fishing with the same weight balance compensared in the shorter head.
2D Spey Lines (62 ft Head)
Perhaps the best and optimum of all Salmon Spey lines. Suitable for Spey casting on medium rivers, where bank side vegetation and /or steep sided river banks have minimal impact on the back cast area – an ideal all purpose Spey line whatever the rod or experience. Available in wide weight range from 36g #8/9 to the heaviest 56g #11/12.

3D Spey Lines (73ft Head)
For the Ultimate distance Spey cast the 3D (73ft head) is the longest head profile in the 3D series. Suitable for Spey Casting in the larger Salmon rivers available in all three densities, floating, sink tip and Intermediate.

2D Multi-Tip System
After last years’ developments and the introduction of a new Intermediate density Spey line in all three profiles 1D, 2D and 3D, this year we have responded to further popular demand and introduced a New multi-tip system in the most popular 62ft 2D range.
Consisting of a standard 2D floating body, with four optional density tips, all supplied in our neat folding Leader Wallet. You can now carry a quick change head system for all fishing conditions, with the additional benefit of the optimum 2D line set up and presentation.
Available in 2D (62ft head), in line
                                                                        weights 36g/8-9, 40g/9-10, 44g/10-11, 56g/11-12.
Supplied with interchangeable, looped tips in densities:
Floating, Slow Intermediate, Slow Sink & Fast Sink.
Personal Review:

'Scandinavian' Spey Lines
‘Scandinavian-Spey’ Fly Lines,
(with Continuous Running Line and Backing)

The Scandinavian Spey line profiles meet the demands of those salmon & sea-trout anglers, fishing with double handed rods in highly restricted areas, where the creation of a large ‘D’ loop is near impossible. By combining the best of the ‘Scandinavian underhand’ style of casting and ‘shooting head’ line technology, with our own UK style of ‘Spey Casting’ and delicate front taper design, we’ve created the ultimate fly line for tackling great places with tight spaces. The Scandinavian-Spey loads the rod quickly at short range, shoots like a dream and has the turnover of a traditional Spey line. The slickest delivery of flies, with no backing knots into the bargain.

Scandinavian-Shooting Heads
(shooting head only with 2 braided loops and shrink sleeve tubing)
The traditional Scandinavian method of using ‘trim to fit’ Shooting Heads for Salmon & Sea-Trout fly fishing, is as popular today as it’s ever been, allowing the angler to ‘modify’ the weighted section of the head to suit his own, very specific requirements. Snowbee Scandinavian Shooting Heads have the same front profile & head weights as the ‘Scandinavian Spey’ lines, for effective rod loading at short range and incredibly smooth turn-over. Available in a choice of densities and head weights, to suit both single and double handed casting situations.

Our ‘Scandinavian-Spey’ fly lines come in a choice of Floating, Intermediate and Ultra-fast sinking densities, with a colour coded core that also forms the first 50yds of your backing.
