Snowbee Rods

Snowbee Prestige

New for 2011!!! Snowbee Prestige Switch Rods

10123- Prestige 10’ 8” #5 Switch Rod
This rod will quickly become the true trout and grilse fisher’s favourite tool. So lightweight and able to be cast easily with one hand, yet capable of delivering a Spey cast whenever needed to reach those difficult riffles and far off ‘holding’ trout. So now, whether river or lake
fishing, long-distance dry fly, or Czech nymphing, you are always in command with a modern day ‘Switch’ in your hand!

10124- Prestige 10’ 8” #6 Switch Rod
This is a slightly faster and more ‘energetic’ fly rod able to cross over to larger Sea Trout, Grilse and massive Reservoir Trout. These rods also deliver heavier flies and Poly Leaders without twitching and still ‘one-hand’ friendly, without unnecessary fatigue after a full days’ fishing.

10125- Prestige 10’ 8” #7 Switch Rod
This rod will be the master for the fly fisher seeking that bright Silver Spring Salmon or giant Sea Trout that may require some ‘bush whacking’, deep water wading. This rod takes hard work in its stride, yet still feels just like a trout rod, even after a days’ fishing.

10126- Prestige 10’ 8” #8 Switch Rod
This is the rod with the greatest abilities to please and deliver the greatest prizes. Casting large tube flies in pursuit of Atlantic or Pacific Salmon, Steelhead, monster Brown Trout or Pike, this rod will do it all. For the travelling fly fisher, seeking large Roosters to baby Tarpon, Bonefish or ‘Stripers at sea, to the massive returning Steelhead, this rod will deliver. The power and elegance of this rod simply speaks for itself.

Personal Review:

Personal Review:

I personally have the 9ft 7wt Prestige that I use for tight quarters and smaller steelhead rivers here in Ontario. I have it matched with the Snowbee XS Twin Colour fly line Wf8f. I like to overload the rod with one weight higher than what I am fishing for these conditions due to the amount of roll casting that I use and large streamer type patterns with coneheads. Don't worry about this rod not handling the overload, the fast action and the power that it generates right from butt is just incredible!! A top quality rod that cost's less and performs better than the tops names. The rod will also handle switch lines for single hand spey casting if you enjoy swinging a fly and want a little more punch when shooting line.

Personal Review:

I have two reviews as I use the 13ft 8/9wt and the 12ft 6wt spey rods. I will start with the 13ft rod, the versitlity of this rod is top notch from throwing longer fly line like the Snowbee 2D to winter steelheading with a skagit from 500-600 grains. I use the Beulah Tonic Skagit 585 grains, suits this rod perfectly and will turns over big flies and heavy sink tips without a problem and with little effort. An all year, all around steelhead rod !!

Now for the 12ft 6wt, this is one gem of a rod and can throw a line a mile. I use the Beulah Elixer 385 grain, I use this rod for fishing smallies here in Ontario and even the smaller smallies put a bend in this rod, tip is super sensitive on this rod. Great rod for fishing tighter situations and want better line control on smaller rivers.
